This Privacy Policy explains how TJC Media LLC ("QuantGrip," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the QuantGrip website and application (the "Service"). We've tried to keep this readable and to collect as little as we need to run the Service.
1. Summary
In short: we collect your name and email to create your account, and our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details. We keep what you put into the Service — the backtest files you upload, the analyses they produce, the rule sets you save, and, if you connect a forward test, the trades it reports — so that you can come back to them. Deleting an analysis deletes its stored file with it, and you can ask us to delete everything. We use a small number of third-party services to operate the Service, listed below. We don't sell your personal information.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. Authentication is handled by our provider, Clerk; if you sign in using a third-party login (such as Google or GitHub), we receive basic profile information from that provider as permitted by you.
Payment information. When you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not collect or store your full payment card number. Stripe collects and processes your payment details under its own terms and privacy policy. We receive limited information from Stripe, such as your subscription status, billing period, and the result of payment attempts, so we can manage your account.
Files you upload, and the analyses they produce. To run an analysis you upload a backtest data file, for example a TradingView strategy export. We keep that file, stored as a zip in object storage alongside the analysis it produced, so that you can download it again or re-run it. We also keep the analysis itself: the strategy names in the file, the settings the run used, the random seed, and the results. Every completed analysis is stored this way on every plan, including the free one, although the free plan shows you only the most recent. Deleting an analysis from your history deletes its stored file with it.
Saved rule sets. If you save a set of prop-firm rules or analysis settings for reuse, we store it with your account until you delete it or close your account.
Live trading activity, if you use the forward test. The forward test compares trades you actually take against the range your backtest predicted. You can give it those trades in two ways, and both are stored with your account: by uploading a broker or TradingView order export, or by creating a private webhook address that your TradingView alerts post to. For each trade we keep the entry and exit time, the direction, the entry price, the number of contracts, and the profit or loss. A webhook address is a standing inbox — it keeps receiving your fills until you delete it — and we keep a log of what each alert contained, so that a trade which did not arrive can be explained. We never receive your broker credentials and cannot place or close a trade.
Usage and device information. Like most online services, we (and our analytics providers) may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and interactions with the Service. This helps us understand usage and improve the product.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- provide the Service, including running the analyses you request;
- process subscriptions, billing, trials, cancellations, and plan changes;
- communicate with you about your account, including service and transactional messages (for example, trial-ending or payment-failure notices);
- understand and improve how the Service is used; and
- maintain the security and integrity of the Service and comply with legal obligations.
We process your data on the legal bases of performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, your consent (where required, such as for certain analytics or marketing), and compliance with law.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Service, and only as needed. These include:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- Clerk — user authentication and account management.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to host the application and database.
- Cloudflare — object storage for the files you upload and the full results of your analyses, and DNS for quantgrip.com.
- Loops — sending account and product email. We share your email address and whether you have run an analysis, so that the messages match where you are.
- Analytics and marketing measurement providers — such as product analytics and advertising-measurement tools (for example, PostHog, the Meta Pixel, and Google tools) that help us understand traffic and usage.
These providers process information on our behalf or under their own terms as independent controllers (as in the case of payment processing). We do not authorize them to use your personal information for their own unrelated purposes.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of QuantGrip, our users, or others.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works. If we use advertising or analytics cookies that require consent in your region, we will seek consent as required.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Your uploaded files, analyses, saved rule sets and forward-test records are kept until you delete them, or until you delete your account. We do not delete them on a schedule, because their whole purpose is to still be there when you come back. Deleting an analysis in the Service deletes its stored file at the same time.
To have everything removed, open Billing in the app and use Delete account. It takes effect at once: your analyses and the files stored with them, your saved rule sets and your forward-test records are deleted, your sign-in is removed, and an active subscription is cancelled immediately without a refund for the remainder of the period. You can also email support@quantgrip.com from the address on your account and we will do it for you. We may retain certain information as required for legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and we rely on established providers (such as Stripe and Clerk) for sensitive functions like payment and authentication. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Users and Data Transfers
QuantGrip is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Your Rights (GDPR — EEA/UK Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (and UK GDPR), including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

10. Your Rights (CCPA — California Residents)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request deletion of your personal information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
